Tresca was born in Ireland but also won in Grade A company at America´s toughest tracks.

She was by English Derby runner-up Spectre out of Nevasca and from the same litter as Linmaree, winner of the 1971 Wool Lande Stakes and runner-up in the Evening Standard Cup. In an previous litter, Nevasca threw the only treble English Grand national winner Sherrys Price. Nevasca was a half sister to Finola who threw Callanan Cup winner Finola´s yarn.
