Newtown Super was unbeaten winner of Barney O`Connor Stake at Clonmel (68 entries) - 29.62, 29.36, 29.02, 29.14.
In the following race, Produce Stake with over 200 dogs, he was the favourite but got injured badly in the first round, he ended in third place but was redrawn from further competition.

Michael O´Sullivan said: "He was one of the most promising pups I have ever trained. It was a real sorrow for me when he god lame. He was my hope for Produce Stake".
He ran 11 races, 5 wins, 3 second and 2 third places.

He was exported to Sweden in Okt 1992, and began his stud career.
In Sweden he threw, three Derby winners -  Zaragoza, My Wiseguy, Fenrir, two Swedish Champions - Signing Off (bitch class) and J.A Richelieu (open class), one S:t Leger winner - Renegade, two Puppy Derby winners - Griffin, Signing Off, two Sprinter Derby winners - My Wiseguy, High Profit, and  a whole bunch of Cup winners.
Newtown threw for all distances.

He was exported to Finland in 1995 and reached the top of the list as No One Sire in Finland 1997 and 1998 in Sweden.
